Who are you?
We are a group of people dedicated to protecting the rights of autistic people and championing their inclusion in society.
Are you a Charity?
No we're not a charity. We're not even a company. We're just a bunch of people. We don't have any formal legal status. We prefer to think of ourselves as an organism rather than an organisation.
What are you campaigning for?
Autism is a big issue with lots of facets. But we are primarily concerned with autism as a civil rights issue and the inclusion and fair treatment of autistic people in society.
What do you do?
We create and provide resources to help educate people about autism and the injustices autistic people face. Resources for autistic people trying to defend their own rights. We conduct research into the issues autistic people face. We talk to government and other institutions trying to persuade them to make changes that will improve the inclusion of autistic people, safeguard their rights and prevent unfairness.
How are you funded?
We're not. There is no joint bank account or fund associated with this work. When we take actions that require money individuals in the group will have volunteered to pay for this out of their own pockets.
Can I join you?
Possibly. Our group is a working group that expects those in it to actively participate. Also we need to keep the size of our group small enough to keep it dynamic and effective. If you have free time and a burning passion to speak out for the rights and inclusion of autistic people maybe you should get in touch.
I've been discriminated against because of my autism. Can you help me win my case?
Well we're not a group of lawyers so we don't offer legal advice for specific cases. What we can do is point you towards legal information, relavent case law and statute. We can direct you to other orgonisations that might help you, to posable sources of legal aid. What we can't do is tell you what do to in your specific case, run your case for you or I'm sad to say fund it. (See our resources page for more information.)
